Why are my unijoints failing?
I have a jetboat running a datsun a12 with 100hp and for the second time my unijoint has pushed the cap out of one side and slips out causing the drive shaft to bend . This is a direct driven boat only motor two uni's that bolt into a tailshaft type setup than slip into a jet unit. The tailshaft bolts to the back of the motor and would only be roughly 30-40 cm long
Alignment between the tail shaft and input shaft. This sounds like the engine has a slight offset, causing side to side stress on the universals.

hmm good one what i would do is change the fuel filters and water sepperator if you have one, also is it pissing water out the tube when running on land? if not change the water impellor and change the plugs try that than you might have to get a johnson repair shop but not the one you are using and let them figure ir oue
Did you do a compression check ? what size/year is the motor ?
