small pontoon boat
i have a small pontoon boat and would like to increase the max. weight that can be carried.?
I am not entirely sure, but i would imagine that someone makes aftermarket "miniature pontoons" that you could put underneath the deck between the two existing pontoons. If no one makes these, and if you dont mind looking a bit like a redneck, you could get some empty 55 gallon oil drums and put them under the deck in the same spot. You could even paint them to match, lol. Otherwise buying additional pontoons is an option. Check in a junkyard or something. If your not much of a do-it-yourselfer then the only other option that I am aware of is getting a new pontoon boat all together.

Wondering if anyone has experience in towing a 21 foot pontoon boat with a gmc canyon or chevy colorado?
Wanting to purchase a smaller truck but also need it to pull my boat including on and off of a boat ramp.
guessing boat and trailer weighs 2500 pounds
Depends on the model of Colorado you get, two 2009 models will be able to pull your boat fine. However, three other Colorado 2009 models are not capable of towing your boat.
Please check the specs on their official Chevy/GMC web site and always require to see the max towing capacity for the particular model of vehicle you are looking at if at a dealership.
It all comes down to research, how much time are you going to invest in finding the facts before truck shopping?
I never have liked pulling any boat near 2,000 pounds or more with a light truck, period. I always go with a full sized truck or better for extra safety and towing power.

You don't want Patrick to meet Dave then. The kitties have been on a knee board, a paddleboat, the ski boat in the picture, a pontoon boat, and a Boston Whaler. They are never half as amused as Dave. They do, in fact, paw towards shore longing for dry land and when within 10 feet of shore jump out of the perfectly dry boat, into the water and run for the house. I've never taken them out on my sculling shell for fear their back claws would scratch my pretty boat.
