Where can I find a simple nylon sprocket for old R/C car?
I have an old RC car from the 80's... nothing fancy, just basic D-battery type. It has direct input to the axle from the DC motor in the form of a single nylon reduction gear that is press fit on the axle and mates to a smaller nylon sprocket on the motor driveshaft. Unfortunately, year ago the car was run into a wall and the nylon reduction gear lost a tooth.
Hobby shops only seem to stock parts for particular "enthusiast" RC car lines. Hardware stores look at me like I'm from anther planet when I ask if they have sprockets. I've seen some online stores listing sprockets in their inventory, but it's all large quantity, commercial type sellers.
Can anyone tell me where I can find this part, probably costs less then 2 cents to make, so I don't want to spend more than $5 for it. I can buy a whole new car in this class for $20 straight off the boat from China, but my car has sentimental value!

Topic I want to discuss: Miami Beach Boat Show. Boat show vs. economic recession (reality).
