shallow water river boat
If you where pulling logs out of a river to mill would you use a big boat or a small boat to move it?
the river is narrow, shallow and filled with junk just waiting to rip a hole in your boat.The prize if you bring those logs in is $10,000.00 a log and you can see with you bare eyes hundreds of them in the water just waiting to be moved and milled.HUNDREDS of logs at $10,000.00 per log.which do you think is easier to use and better for this job?Yes I got this question from watching Axmen & yes I think that guy with the 2 boats should have used the smaller one and just pull the logs behind it considering how dangerous that river was.
one is a small barge with a winch and the other is a smaller flat bottom aluminum fishing boat like you see on rivers every day
It's on the west coast can't remember which river it is but I know for a fact that logger on Axmen is doing just that as we speak.
First question is, Who is the owner of the logs ?? Most rivers have Riparian owners who own the bottom lands/logs... What river is this ?? Is it a natural trout stream.. You have to get permits, DEQ, Natural Resources of given location.
A lot of things come into play before you can just start pulling logs..
