How old do you have to be to purchase a SeaDoo?
Also do you have to take a test to get a license? Or do you go do some paperwork and your done? Is it a long process? And last is their a lot of up keep involved in owning one of these and if so is it very costly? thanks
You need to be 18 in order to enter into a legal contract. If you're not 18, your parents can enter into the contract for you. There are no legal requirements for licensing, but in most states, you must be 14 to operate, but the owner is ultimately responsible for damages incurred by the vehicle if someone gets into an accident. You need to check with local laws on PWC's in your area.
I also recommend taking a boaters safety course. It'll outline laws and regulations in your area and insurance companies usually offer a discount if you've taken one.
Upkeep is like any other thing. Gas, oil changes, washing, changing spark plugs, etc. If you take care of it, it'll be more dependable.
