sea ray powerboat
I'm looking into buying a cabin cruiser powerboat....which is best?
I'm probably going to have to settle for a model in the 80's some time, but I'm looking for a 25-27 foot trailerable cabin cruiser. I tend to lean toward the Sea Ray Sundancer, but I thought I'd ask here to see if that's a good idea. How do the Bayliner's compare? Feel free to tell me the pros and cons. Thanks guys!
If you have to go with something that old, then the Sea Ray would be better. I'd avoid the Bayliner. In the 80's, Bayliner had too many problems with the hull. Be sure to test drive the boat and make sure everything works as it should. Then take the boat to a local shop to have it inspected and checked over before handing any cash to the seller. If the seller won't do both, walk away from the boat. The seller is hiding issues and doesn't want you to discover them. That old of a boat is going to have issues, I guarantee it! With people trying to get out from under boat payments on newer boats, give it a try to find a much newer boat in your price range. Boats aren't fast sellers, so don't fall for "I've got another buyer" line. Take your time and research everything before laying down any cash. Some other good brands are Monterey, Regal, Rinker, Seaswirl, Cruisers, Carver and Wellcraft. Use the link below to get an idea of the value of the boat with options so you don't get ripped off. Also, don't be afraid to offer less than the asking price. Some people are so desperate to get rid of a boat, they're willing to pay some to get out from it.

You said it all. Droid, I phone…who gives a shit. You people need to get a life. Get excited about a family member, a 30 foot Sea Ray cruiser or a new car but a cell phone? GEEZ..what small minds.
Used Sea Ray Power Boats At Low Prices –
The Sea Ray sounds overpriced. Check out Skipper Buds web site. The inventory for all of their dealerships is on line. I think you will find good used Sea Rays for less. Larsons are also very good quality and sometimes can be had for less than Sea Rays. Only if the Sea Ray is in extremely good condition and very low hours like under 200 would it even approach the value of a new Bayliner that is the same size and with the same sized engine. The engines and out drives are pretty much the same whether it is Sea Ray or Bayliner. MerCruiser and Volvo own the market. So the variables are all of the rest. Given what you asked, and assuming you can't find a better priced used Sea Ray or Larson, I would definitely opt for the Bayliner. The quality difference is not as great as boat snobs would have you believe.
