glastron ski boats
Okay, for those who own a 4.6L Ford F150s?
I just bought an '04 with auto tranny in a standard cab truck. Since I have always owned GM trucks, how is the 4.6L on dependability and how is the auto tranny dependability? I will be towing a 21ft Glastron ski boat with it and the weight is about 2600lbs.
Anything I should look for as far as problems that might creep up?
A friend of mine has a 4.6 in his F-150. When we go racing together, I pull the car trailer with both cars in it behind my '78 GMC dually. I have a built 454 in that. He pulls a 26' camper behind the F-150. His only complaint is getting it rolling-the camper loaded with all our gear for a weekend weighs about 8000#. Other than that he has no issues with it. You shouldn't have a problem with towing 2600#.
The F-150 turned 130,000 miles going to the track last weekend and has been used this way since he bought it in 2004 as well as being his daily driver.
