about pontoon boats
Are the pontoons on pontoon boats filled with flotation material or air?
I have seen both. My step-father has repaired/demolished a few boats and he has seen some empty floats and some filled with foam.
Empty seems to be more common though.
He told me that most are sold empty (its cheaper), but a lot of people fill theirs with a foam that starts as a liquid and expands. It fills the pontoon floaters and if they are ever punctured, it slows or even prevents sinking.

Spudge, I keep telling my husband that after we retire we need to go fish for other species of fish besides walleye. He doesn't get much time off work and he's hooked. Once we retire I'm going to make him take me fly fishing for trout. Then I'm getting myself a pontoon boat so I can take the ladies out and pan fish while the boys go chasing muskies and northern pike, boring. Pontoon boats have a nice flat surface good for mixing drinks, all will be welcome when that day comes.
