yanmar makes diesel outboards up to about 40 hp.as far as boats coming equiped with them im not too sure.

Oh yeah, I should read all of the top huh. Not just who posted it. I'll tell you Joey, I've got most of the blogs from when I first joined. I'll have to eventually delete some to make room for more, but this one is going in my never throw out folder. And of course all fisherman & lobstermen vids. I'll keep. The ones with all the pictures of the lobsterboats & fishing boats. Joey, how can I throw those out. Simple, I can't…lol…

The Pacific ocean temperature buoy systems have been taking quite a beating.
Google for more, going back years – damage by fishing boats, vandalism, pirates, and straightforward removal and theft of instruments; just one example:
“TAO moorings in the eastern Pacific (95°W and 110°W) have been heavily vandalized since June 2006. These moorings are scheduled for replacement in November 2006. Recent graphical displays of TAO / TRITON data have been adjusted to account for data void regions east of 125°W.”
In On Tsunami Shores article I found it interesting that even in the midst of one of the worst natural disasters of recorded history Indonesian government officials were participating in corruption, that led to shoddy fishing boats being developed for fisherman.
Regarding the efforts of aid groups to build fishing boats to help rebuild the fishing industry that was so vital to the Bana Aceh econony, I wonder where these aid groups got their information about the needs of the local people. Did they obtain this information that people needed boats more than homes from the Indonesian government, or did they conduct investigative work themselves? Sometimes it may pay to do background investigative work to find where money is best spent.
