Tampa to New Orleans in a 30' Grady White with twin Yamaha's on a full tank& two 6gal cans of gas?

Is this possible ya think?

It is possible to make the voyage - but not possible to make it non-stop from Tampa to New Orleans on 312 gallons of fuel.

Here is how I suggest you do it:
From Tampa, take the Florida Gulf ICW north to Steinhatchee. You will need to follow the marked GICW channel and you can get fuel and provisions at plenty of locations along the way. At Steinhatchee you must get fuel - from there, you must head across the Gulf. it is 73 nm (minimum) to about 85 nm (depending on how well you can stay on course) to Carrabelle, Fl. This (believe me) is the safest, shortest distance across the Gulf as well as your shortest distance between fuel stops.
While 73 nm to 85 nm may not seem at all "that far" to you - the voyage will be a long one. Probably the longest you will ever make in terms of "time". This shortest distance "crossing the Gulf" will take you between 8 to 12 hours (possibly even more). So plan your departure so you arrive in daylight.
From Carrabelle, you will want to take the Gulf ICW to New Orleans. This is a beautiful & well protected route. It is also 352 sm (statute miles) to New Orleans.
The (potential) problem with your route from Tampa to New Orleans is that Tampa to Carrabelle is 180 sm. Most powerboats can only average 8 mph on this voyage. That equals 22 long hours, and that alone will consume most (if not all) of your fuel.
If you have the 300 twin engines and 300 gallons of fuel on your Grady - you must maintain a 13 GPH or less fuel burn rate. Which means you will not be able to exceed more then about 2500 rpms. If conditions are such you have to slow down, you will increase your hours at sea, if conditions are such that you must increase your RPMs to maintain speed, course and headway - then your fuel burn rate goes up and you are likely not to make it.
So, I hope you see why you should plan to take the very shortest route across the Gulf. Either-way however, you can not make it ALL the way from Tampa to New Orleans on 312 gallons of fuel.

PS. A FINAL WORD TO THE WISE:
I make this voyage every year, and I am known for having made this trip many times in the past. So, when I arrive in Carrabelle, often I find other boaters waiting on me to cross the Gulf. (as if they think I have some magic formula) LOL. . . Furthermore, I personally would not make this trip in your boat (least not without another boat & boater to pick me up out of the sea in case the boat capsizes or swamps.
Additionally, (I always take bets for "celebratory drinks") that my 30' sailboat will beat any power-boater across the Gulf - and I've never lost one of those bets yet. So don't think you will be able to "zoom" across in just a few hours - the Gulf simply won't allow it.

You should also prepare yourself for finding a Marina on the Gulf ICW before the Harvey Lock. New Orleans is going to surprise you. . . there simply is not any place for your boat, no pleasure boat marinas for you to stay or dock or get fuel in New Orleans or on the Mississippi side of New Orleans. NONE! All pleasure boat facilities are either on or near Lake Pontchartrain.

For pleasure boaters - The romance of the old City of New Orleans simply does not exist anymore. Now it is all Tugs, Bugs, Barges and heavy commercial boat traffic - so much so - you will be thrilled and greatly relieved when you can finally escape unscathed. The voyage is worth the trip - because of places like Carrabelle, Apalachicola, Pensacola, Mobile Bay and others - but you will live in fear of your boat's safety every minute, day & night as long as you are on the west or north side of the Harvey Lock. There are no places to anchor, dock or escape except to turn around and get well out of there before dark. If your plan is to see and visit New Orleans, you need to plan on finding a place on or near Lake Pontchartrain for your boat, and taking a taxi into the city.
