large pontoon boats
boat pontoon problem?
can ANYONE help me please? I have a REALLY large canoe/kayak that i want to turn into a boat with alot of juice but my main problem is boyancy (sorry if my spelling is wrong). I have wored out that i would probably use air, foam or helium in the pontoons to make them boyant. If you have an idea please email me: weststigers94@yahoo.com.au or post it on this page
The buoyancy is purely a function of the volume displaced by the hull. Adding foam will add weight and decrease it. Adding Helium will not make any appreciable improvement. If you need more buoyancy, you'll need a hull with a larger displacement.
