Is the case the same when purchasing a houseboat?
The owner of the Houseboat we are purchasing would like a 10% refundable deposit paid to her to secure the sale. I thought you had to pay after the contracts were signed and the balnce on completion?
This is quite normal and the accepted way for most non-standard construction dwellings (ie Houseboats, Park Homes, Static Caravans etc etc).
Just make sure your legals are all correct and above board (pardon the pun).
