fiberglass ski boats
How can I find my boat that sunk?
It's a 14ft fiberglass ski boat, and sunk in aprox 12 to 20ft of water. I remember the general area it went down, but a typical Texas lake has a water clarity of about 2 inches. A friend tried to find it using his fish finder/gps that shows the lake bottom, but no luck. Where could it have gone?
Its been under water for 5 months now. I can't get rid of the trailer, because I know the minute I do, they'll find it and call me to come get it.
It's in a local lake around the Houston area.
I know it won't work, but its become a quest to find it, lol. The police have also tried to find it, but not sure how well they looked.
If you don't have a sonar then try dragging for it with a grapnel style anchor. If you get a sonar then you'll have to learn how to set it and read it for it to do any good.
You should report that it has sunk to TPWD. Then if it is recovered by somebody you won't be charged for littering or something. How did it sink and why don't remember where? What lake? Maybe somebody already found it.

Mounting a ski pylon, Where do I bolt it?
I want to mount my pylon to the floor of my fiberglass boat, how would i do that?
My buddy and I installed one on his Maxum. He had a ski storage area in the floor and we crawled in there and mounted the base plate, one under and one on top that attached together with minimal drilling. The pole attached to the mount with a pin and clip and had a steel braided line that attached to the front of the boat. Google answers.com and put in ski pylon installation and youll get some more tips. Good luck
