ebay boats for sale
Can anyone help me find a place to sell bronze sculptures?
My boyfriend makes boat sculptures. He has made wicker, toothpick and bronze boats. He has also made Shields out of bronze. Were trying to find away to sell his bronze art work, but have no luck.
There are three obvious answers.
The first is eBay, where you can test the waters for interest and see what sells. You have to be able to take some good pictures. You can use a base price to set your minimum or have a hidden reserve price if you want to be sure not to lose it.
The second is the craft shows that will be coming up almost every weekend between late August and Thanksgiving run by churches, schools, towns, and arts organizations. Here you must transport the items, set up some kind of display and work table, and pay a fee. The bigger fancier shows will not be available having filled up by now, but the smaller 1 and 2 day will have openings. The advantage here is that you get to talk to people and hear comments and perhaps make some money. If you have cell phone access to the internet and have a Paypal account, you may even be able to take credit cards.
The third is to take an album of pictures and some examples and go to art, gift, and interior decorating galleries and museum shops in your area to show your pieces and attempt to place some of them for sale. You may get feed back from owners, you may sell some stuff at the cost of direct rejection and giving up 1/3 or more of the sales price - but the price may be higher than you would have charged.
