east coast houseboats
can one navigate a boat across the country by rivers?
I went to my late fathers will reading yesterday and apparently my dad left me his houseboat, I was wondering can i travel from the east coast of the Us to the west by navigating the rivers?
You can travel for thousands of miles in total, on various navigable waters in the Mississippi River system, and a few river systems in the eastern part of North America - but you cannot cross the continent by boat, without transporting it across considerable distances - especially a large boat such as a houseboat, which is not like a canoe or kyak which is easy to carry!!
