What does military use for ?
Hello there!
I just bought a Jet-Ski/Waterscooter ( I know people get angry seeing that nobody knows what to call it) and my brother and two friends did aswell. We have a whole sailing armada of friends almost (about 10-20 boats in high summer.>.< And we all ofcourse have VHF radios. Now, what me and my three friends want is microphones to connect to the VHFs we have with us on our Jet-Skis/Waterscooters and we thought of these throat mics that seemed very practical, but all I can find is mics that seem kinda cheap. So I was wondering if there's any chance to get a hold of maybe military or close to military ones that seem abit more reliable.
And we also play paintball sometimes.
Myself, and my friends would highly appreciate it if anyone could help us in any way. Maybe you have one that you like or would like to recommend this or that. Anyway, thanks alot for your help! 
There is a greater chance that those "cheap" looking mics are the same exact ones the military is already using right now. The exception is you can probably buy one for 12 bucks, military procurement pays around 250 bucks for the same thing. Anyway try looking for a DRMO or a defense re utilization on a military installation and see what they have. It is basically a flea market for used military gear and items. Other than that just stick to the brand names like Motorola who provide a Lot of commo equipment at least for the Army.

To Mr. Bang . . . If I read your complaint(s) correctly, you want to ban all jet skis from being allowed to operate on Lacamas Lake, is that correct? And banning jet skis from Lacamas Lake will “make Camas a better place” in your opinion? Do you feel the same way about other water craft like say, motorized fishing boats, motorized ski boats, etc.?
