Century Resorter Boat Value?
Why are the fiberglass Century Resorters not very expsensive are they cheaply made boats? or does the value not hold on them. The most I have seen have been from 4,000 to the max at like 15,000 bucks for sale. My father and I are looking into possibly buying one. whats the catch?
The catch is that a complete production run of resorters came out of a bad mold, and had a hook in the keel. This caused the boat to dog track (wander) at low speeds, making it a b-itch to steer. Although this affected a small percentage of their production, it did have an affect on resale value as a whole. The only other negative is that early Centurys used Chrysler marine power, which have a lower hp to weight ratio than GM or Ford based engines.
