Anyone know who makes an affordable ski boat?
I am looking for a boat that won't break the bank. I researched building a boat, and have searched craigslist and ebay. It seems used boats (unless ancient) are not much cheaper than new and I can't find ski boat plans that have an open bow to build. I've also looked at Chaparral's, Sun tracker's and Yamaha's website but they seem to be on the higher end. So does anyone know a boat company that makes an affordable, small, open bow ski boat with a 50 to 75 hp motor that can seat 5?
Most large boat builders make a large number of entry level boats. Sunbird, bayliner and many others. Used, these are about as cheap as you can get. Often these will have inboard/outboard drives with 4 cylinder engines in the 120-140 hp range or outboards with 90 hp and up. You would not be able to do much skiing with 50 hp and 5 people in the boat. Forget about building your own. When you speak of "cheap" and boats: $100 for a day of boating with gas etc .Engines and outdrives have to have maintenance and repairs. Not much cheap about any of it.
