what is the OFF, ON, RES knob on the front right side of my jet ski?
I just received a jet ski from a friend. He couldnt store it and asked if I wanted to take it off his hands. There is no manual an I'm knew to this..
What is the OFF, ON, RES knob on the front right side of my jet ski? When should I have it in the OFF, ON or on RES position?
Also, what is the N knob on the front left hand side of my jet ski amd when do I use this..
Can you tell me where I connect a garden hose to my jet ski? It's a 1998 yamaha waverunner gp1200x... Thanks, your input is much appreciated..
THE OFF, ON, RESERVE knob is your gas. The RES is when you run out of gas when you're out in the water (oh no!) and it gives you a few gallons so you can make it back to land. Have it turned to the ON setting when you're driving it, and to the OFF setting when you're not.
But mine constantly stays on ON, and I haven't had any problems yet.
The N knob... if it's what i think it is, then I can tell you what that's for. If it looks like one of those things you pull to start a lawn mower and it's under the start button then that's important. Should your jet ski stall and be unable to start, you pull that out, start up your jet ski, but make sure you push it back in.
I can't tell you where to hook the hose up to. I've got a SeaDoo, and they're different. But I'm pretty sure it'd be in the back of the jet ski, or right under by the propeller. You'll know when you see it. Usually it's something you can attach your hose to.
Remember - Jet ski's require and LOT of maintanence. Don't just leave them in the water when you're not using them, especially in salt water.
I always use premium gas in my water crafts.
ALWAYS flush your jet ski ASAP after taking it out of the water. Don't ever let it sit. Especially, as I said, if it's been in salt water. Your jet ski needs to be flushed out and there's a certain way to do this.
Also, when sticking the hose in your jet ski. Make sure the engine is running. Don't ever run water through your jet ski without the engine running or you'll break it.
Try going the website and looking for a owner's manual. You really need one.
