Ever seen that commercial "dogs need weekends too"?
Just for fun....how many of you take your dog(s) on vacation? Boating? Hiking? I see so many people who leave their dogs at home because it's "inconvenient and a pain" to bring them places. Sad.
My two go boating and camping, baseball tournaments, hiking, fishing, Grandma & Grandpa's house...anywhere dogs are allowed. They hang out at our auto repair shop with us too. My JRT mix even likes to ride on the jetski with me...with his life jacket on of course. Our lab mix tries to get on the waverunner, but she dumps me every time...LOL
What activities do you involve your dog in?
We bring our puppy everywhere dogs are allowed to go. I love bringing him to my inlaws to play with their big dogs, he is 10lbs and they are both over 70 but they are like best friends and in the days we get them together Dexter is actually tired out! Unfortunately they live an hour away so we can't go that often. I used to bring him to my parents place too, but they have an 8 month old Lab that is just too unruley. We tried to get them together a few times and it was just scarey because of their dogs dominance issues.
We also bring him to my husbands weekly softball games, he is the furry team mascot! And there are a lot of street festivals in the summer very close to our house or at least in the city so we bring him along with us to those. Our favourite place to take Dexter is the bay front park with trails along the lakeshore and marina. It's always a bit cooler by the water and there are lots of dogs to meet! I wish more place allowed dogs I feel bad leaving him at home to run errands and stuff, and it is too hot to leave him in the car.
