vintage ski boats
Can you identify this 14' Aluminum runabout boat?
14 foot, aluminum runabout... no capacity tag, HIN, serial number, nothing...
Only pieces so far identified is the hardware and motor. The bow light and cleats are Nautalloy Skylark (1960), and the motor is Johnson RDS-23 (1961 Johnson Super Seahorse 40hp).
The MC numbers on the boat are tied to the registration - which says the boat is a 1961 Chris Craft.
The only issue with that is that it definitely ISN'T a Chris Craft. They never made a 14' aluminum runabout.
You are correct in that this is not a Chris Craft. I can also tell you that it is about a 1960 vintage.....not much newer than that, in fact it could be a couple years older. There are some things that point to an Arkansas Traveler, But...... There were only a handful of companies building Alum then and I can see similarities, but the steering wheel is your best clue. The Ski eyes on the back are not original.....I wish you luck......but it's a tough one!
