Nephew in 12 days! Which of these names?
My brother and sister-in-law are expecting a little boy to be named Gerard. He'll be a little brother to Roman Walter "Rome"/"Romy/"Roma".
All the names are from the Spanish National Football [soccer] team in honour of them winning the FIFA World Cup and as the baby is due to be born in Spain. If you hate them all, pick the one you find the most bearable.

Gerard Xabi [CHA-bee]
Gerard Torres
Gerard Casillas [cah-SEE-yuhs]
Gerard Alonso
Gerard Villa [VEE-yuh]
Gerard Javier [hah-VYER]
I think there's a slight difference in the English and American pronounciation of Gerard. It would be pronounced jeh-RAHRD.

Gerard Iker [EE-ker] -- Nice, I don't like the sound of Iker.
Gerard Xabi [CHA-bee] -- Don't like Xabi sound. If Americans try to say it, it sounds like "chubby"
Gerard Torres -- It's okay.
Gerard Casillas [cah-SEE-yuhs] -- I like Casillas with Gerard, flows well.
Gerard Alonso -- It's okay.
Gerard Villa [VEE-yuh] -- It's okay.
Gerard Javier [hah-VYER] -- I like the name Javier, very nice it means "bright"
I like both Gerard Casillas and Gerard Javier. Both flow well (yes I know how to pronounce it in spanish). I like Casillas name b/c of the Roman origin too and it means "dweller of the distinguished house" And it goes with the Roman name!
Congratulations, I hope he grows up to be a world cup winner!
