used tracker bass boats
Bass Tracker 25 Hp motor 2002?
I just got my first boat and it is gently used. I have put engine in a 55 gal barrel of water and now have it running. Should there be water coming out of the upper opening of the motor, between the motor case and prop? I have seen this b-4. This is all new to me and want no problems on the water.
Yes, there is supposed to be water coming out of the engine, generally from somewhere near where the motor meets the top part of the lower unit. It should be a nice firm, steady stream. As any O/B mechanic will tell you: You're engine should be 'pi$$ing'. This pi$$ water is only an indicator; it is only a small percentage of the actual cooling water, but its' presence (or lack of) indicates the effectivness of your cooling system. If you have vey little or no pi$$ water coming out, a variety of things could be wrong, from a simple blocked hose preventing this waters escape, to a shot cooling-water impeller. Easy fix, either way. First, check all hoses leading to the pi$$ port, make sure they are clear. If they are, then you just have to remove the lower unit and inspect the impeller. There will be 3 or 4 bolts on the bottom of the cavitation plate: remove these, then yank the lower unit off, then open up the impeller housing (it will be roundish).

It's supply and demand. We need to increase supply AND reduce demand, IMO. I think that we will eventually go after the offshore stuff and ANWR. We just need a reasonable effort to reduce demand for oil at the same time. Scaring people into drilling now because of a Communist threat will lead to poor decision making. I would rather see us reserve some oil resources for the future. Strategically, we will be better off if we can tap some of our own resources for plastics and other oil distillates in the future. Im a long term kind of guy.
A bass boat? LOL Good bass boats are incredibly stable in fresh water. How did it fare on the Gulf? not sure I would take any beer along.

Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm not exactly the reader you dream of. But remember, I'm the one who refers to CF as a FATMR (foaming at the mouth republican), and who often categorizes myself as a “Dem in despair.”
If I had to state the core of the despair in one sentence, it would be this: Why have the Ds let the Rs completely hijack the idea of personal responsibility?
If I were given the chance to elaborate on that, I'd ask … a whole bunch of stuff. Why shouldn't public school teachers be evaluated by classroom results, and rewarded, or not, or fired, accordingly? (I understand the system of evaluation would have to be quite different from that in any for-profit situation, but it could be done.) Why should anyone be immune from layoffs, and why should anyone enjoy an ironclad pension agreement? (I was a 1990 Drexel Burnham refugee, one of thousands with an unimpressive salary in the five figures, so I'm gonna be a tough sell here.) Why am I supposed to help people who “got in over their heads” with their mortgages, when I see their bass boats and four-wheelers whenever I drive past their homes? (Remember, I don't live in Greenwich anymore!)
You get my drift. Somehow, helping people who have been genuinely, often profoundly, disadvantaged has morphed into helping people who have decided to abdicate their responsibilities as adults. I want to help the former, but I seem to have been drafted to provide financial clean-up services for the latter. Not happy 'bout this.
Please advise. Remember … I'm on your side (or, at least, I want to be).
