towing and trailering boats
what kind of car to buy that has a towing capacity of 3000lbs?
my dad and i are looking into buying a new car. we have a boat that is around 3000 pounds that would need to be towed off the back by a trailer. right now we have a dodge durango and im looking to be driving something smaller. price isnt really an issue, any suggestions would be great

What problems arise from towing a trailer with the tongue slightly avobe horizontal position?
I will be towing a boat and I installed a towing ball directly on the step bumper of my truck, once I latched my truck and trailer I noticed that the trailer tongue is about 3" above horizontal position. Can this provoke a potentially dangerous situation when I tow the trailer, what are the cons of doing this?
As an instructor for trailering, it's important to have as level as possible. With the trailer 3" above level, you run the risk of the trailer causing the truck to lift the rearend and losing control in the event of a sudden stop. Results would be you jackknifing the truck/trailer, or rear ending the vehicle in front. Other than that, if you drive carefully, you'll be OK.
