What's the scariest thing that's happened to you?
I almost fell off this huge mountain ledge because something big moved in the woods while hiking. I screamed at the top of my lungs, jumped off the rocks and ran to my mom. I was so scared because there were warning signs of bear attacks.
I was 11 years old and we were at our lake house for the Forth of July and we were taking out the boat and water equipment for the first time that year. I had been water skiing since I was 5 and was really quite good. I was really eager to start skiing, because it was my favorite thing to do.
So I get up on the skis on the first try.I am skiing for a good 10 minutes, and since I was a little rusty, I was ready to drop. I yelled to the boat that I was ready to drop and let go before I got a thumbs up from anyone on the boat that they were prepared to stop. When I dropped, the rope somehow got wrapped around my foot while I was in the water.
Before I know it, the boat was dragging me by my foot and my head was in the water and I couldn't breath. Nobody on the boat realized that I had dropped until they looked back. When they noticed that I wasn't still up, they looked to try to find me.
When the finally realized that I was still attached to the boat, it had been about 2 minutes since I had been up for air. Those 2 minutes were the longest minutes of my life. When I was under there, I thought that I was going to dye. I was saying prayers and mentally saying goodbye to my loved ones.
5 years have past, and I can still remember those 2 minutes like they were yesterday.
Another really scary time in my life was on April 27, 2011 (I live in Alabama). That morning I woke up for school and turned on the TV to see what the weather was suppose to be like. It said tornadoes, but I didn't think much about it. This was at 6:00 AM. I got ready and was heading downstairs to eat breakfast. All the sudden the power went out, there was a HUGE burst of light that lit up the whole house. I ran down stairs and on the way down I glanced outside the window and saw a tree sliding towards our house. Blues and purples were lighting up the sky and we could here the damage being done outside. Luckily my whole family was safe and our house was not too damaged. The storm was gone in a matte of minutes. Once everything was safe, neighbors began to emerge from their houses to see what had happened. We opened up our front door and could not get out, because there was a giant tree blocking the way out. We found a way out through our basement and looked at the damage on our street. Our city was destroyed. People had trees through their houses, on their cars, and there were electrical fires everywhere. Luckily nobody on my street was killed.
