supra ski boats
cant find the fuel tank sending unit on a 1999 sundancer 270 model with a 7.4?
Look for a round plastic cover in the floor, usually toward the rear of the boat. There is usually one for the sump pump toward the center of the boat, and one for the fuel sending unit toward the rear. Just lift it with a flat head screwdriver or unscrew it. The sending unit should be right there.
If you still can't find it, see if your carpet is the removable type. If it is, lift it up and you will find it there.
They like to hide them sometimes! Mine is under the back seat of my Supra ski boat, accesible when I lift up the seat padding.

On the one hand, the advertisers are responsible. It's easy to sell loud go-fast excitement, or gross luxury, not only because they are superficially appealing, but because an image can be sold along with the product. A person buys an 'exciting' boat not only to have it, but to be exciting himself, because the marketing deliberately creates that association.
From the consumer's side, besides falling prey to marketing strategies, car culture reigns supreme. It's unfortunate, but not really surprising, that the most popular boats would be loud, fast, and drivable like cars, instead of slow, quiet, and requiring some specialized skills to use.
Just my $0.02.
