Consumption taxes do not have to be regressive. A basic fixed rebate for everyone works just fine.
So Modern is just going to be Modern, with no Modern Heats? (which will be Riva). I just can't seem to get on with Modern Heats. I read one recently in which the couple went on the tube. The tube! I can do that myself
In fact, I do it twice a day. The things I like about Moderns are:
The bullet-proof limos
The helicopters
The private planes
The super-yachts
The islands
and all the other trappings of modern (Modern?) tycoonery, which I never encounter. I've just been reading an article about the most expensive block of flats in London, which includes SAS-trained security guards and iris scanners. Totally Modern!
