Sundancer cruiser yacht
Thinking of buying a boat?
i don't know much about boats but i want one that will hold about 6 people. I want a power boat that you can live on (not permanently). How much would it cost? Give any examples.

sorry about putting the same thing twice.
Usually the first boat is a runnabout, then upgraded to a cruiser, and then to the bigger dogs such as a flybridge motoryacht.
It's all about cost, you can skip these steps depending on how much you want to spend and how serious you want to take boating.
As an owner of a larger boat, it's perfect for your needs, though the qeustion is do you need a such a large investment ? Larger boats can really accomidate groups of people well but are much harder to use as they require more than just yourself to operate (sort of) and cost more to own.
The most ideal with semi-reasonable price would be boats like:
30 ft 2005 Sea Ray 270 Amberjack
30 ft 1994 Sea Ray 290 Sundancer
30 ft 1988 Sea Ray 30 Sea Ray Sedan Bridge
32' 1997 Carver 320 Voyager
Various sized Bayliners
Some of the more desirable features would be :
* Diesel
* Navigation
* Does it come with a Dhingy?
* Hard top (opposed to soft)
* HP of engine
* Hours on the engines
* Economy or brand of engine
I would recommend that if you can visit some of the yacht clubs in the area and get an idea of ownership cost. Also there are usually boats for sale by members so you can get some up close views. Another point, boats may be listed high but they are HARD to sell, so be sure it is what you want and low-ball every offer you make.
