whats there to do in destin beach florida?
It really depends on what you like to do. Of course there is the beach and you can spend hours there hanging out on the beach and swimming in the ocean (please watch for stingrays and jelly fish). You can always play volleyball, football or something like that with your family or friends on the beach. Trust me it never gets on being on the beach. There is also a really fun water park called Big Kahuna’s. Great place with plenty of awesome slides and a very cool tide pool.

I might also check out the aquarium that is always fun I think it is called the Gulfaquarium still they have plenty of underwater animals to see most are native to the area and this place is a great way to spend the afternoon.

Take the Southern Star Dolphin Cruise they have a glass bottom boat and seeing the dolphins in their environment is so cool. We saw a ton of them the day we did this we also saw all other kinds of water animals. It really is a neat trip and well worth the price!

There is also a company called Pelican Adventures they have all kinds of trips from deep sea fishing, snorkeling, dolphin cruises and more. They are a great company and we have used them for two of their tours. They have a pretty descent price and they are always a good time. This is a great way to see something different or do something new they have all kinds of trips that are perfect for families.

You might want to rent some Jet Ski’s or Wave Runners what a great way to spend a day in the ocean. This company is really good and they have everything from boats to Jet Ski’s.

The science center is pretty cool. Even better if you are going with the family. There are plenty of hands on things to do and they also have a wind tunnel that you get to fly a plane through that is pretty fun!

Go to Gator Beach! Awesome see the gators up close. The best part about this place is that it is FREE! You can’t beat that! Small place, but they allow you to get up close and personal with these guys. Feeding time is just awesome! They are open to the public although during the school season there are a ton of field trips.

There is the US Armament Museum that is pretty neat to see. If you or your family likes history then you will like this place. They used to store bombs here and the complex is pretty neat to see. They have a ton of planes to look at including an SR71 which is pretty awesome. We had a great time here and everyone in the family enjoyed it.

If you are looking for some family entertainment at night you might want to head over to the Track Recreation area. They have Go Karts, Bumper Cars, Bumper Boats, Mini Golf, an Arcade and so much more. Great way to kill time and spend the evening we always have fun here.

There are tons of awesome restaurants in Destin so food should not be an issue here are some of my favorites:
Smiling Fish Café. Pretty cheap casual place great sandwiches and salads. You can eat inside or out and they staff is great.
The Lucky Snapper, great oyster bar, plenty of fresh seafood and wonderful prices. Casual dining.
The Back Porch is a few minutes from Destin, but well worth the trip! Extensive menu, great seafood dishes and a fun place for kids. They have so many choices we love to come here.
Pompano Joe’s another fun casual family place with a great seafood selection and reasonable prices.
If you are looking for fine dining I highly suggest the Beach Walk Restaurant. Superior service and some of the best food around. Fancy place be warned!
There is plenty to do in Destin and the surrounding areas. I would contact the visitor’s center and ask them to send you your free travel packet. This has everything you need to plan your trip and comes with maps and COUPONS which can save you a ton of money. If you have any specific questions you can email them and trust me they will help you find the activities that suit your family’s needs. Free service and just as good as a travel agent you might as well use them. Have a great trip and I hope this helps!
