wifi on ipod touch help?
well when im in my house i get this option to log onto a wifi network that is in my house for some reason. i dont have a laptop but i think maybe the people who lived in the house before me did? anyways i need a password to get into it. at my friends house it does the same thing and she knows her password, but i dont know mine. how do i get it?
also for spring break me and my family go on a houseboat in lake shasta in california, do you think i will be able to go on wifi when im there? also if i buy a wireless router and take it with me, would that work?

No, you are getting a wifi signal from your neighbors house, and it is password secured. For your friend, either she has a router in her house that she set a password for, or she found out the password of her neighbor's house. Your neighbors obviously don't want you to connect to their router because of the password. I'd suggest to invest into a router for your home. They usually come with easy setup CDs for your computer and take less than 5 minutes to install. For your houseboat, if you have significant power supply on it and a computer already on it, then yes, get a router for your houseboat. If not, it will not be compatible. Routers are not portable, they plug into several ports, such as LAN, your modem and a power source.

Lake Shasta is "Houseboat Heaven" – and well, you know the rest of the story…
It used to be mostly families… Now however, kids on Spring Break, and kids using Daddy's boat – well what can I say?
When we have a one President that insisted on National TV that oral sex was not sex, and we have a current President that announced to the world he would want his daughter to get an abortion if she "got in trouble"… and we have commercials on TV (though it is funny) where a teacher says to a guy on the escalator "I think your the father of one of my children." What are we teaching these kids?
And don't forget the 4th graders last year that exposed the video of their classmate "doing the Monaca" when the substitute teacher stepped out of the classroom.
I am with you all the way… but what can we do about it now?
