what are the best things to do when travelling in atlantic canada?

please gives lots of ideas and details!!! interesting places to go, sights to see, etc

Be sure to see the Bay of Fundy with the highest tides in the world and the rocks at Hopewell Cape in NB. The Bay is also the summer home of the last tiny remnant of northern right whales, which have been hunted almost to extinction. Go whale watching in St. Andrews NB, lots of wonderful craft shops. Stuff yourself with seafood! Lobster, clams, every kind of fish, smoked salmon, scallops (to die for!) shrimp, mussels, crabs. Try some dulse, an edible seaweed.

Then drive to Saint John, wonderful old historic port with a superb downtown heritage preservation area. Walk Harbour Passage, see the unique Saint John City Market with all kinds of crafts and food vendors, the New Brunswick Museum (one of the oldest in Canada) - all these are connected by an underground pedway system. And the Reversing Falls, where the river flows two ways and you can go through the narrow gorge on a jetboat. The Martello Tower built to defend against the US in the War of 1812.

You will find lots more to interest you in southern NB!

You live between two of the best trout/salmon/steelhead waters in NY, if not the entire country. To the West is Oak Orchard where the steelies will be running in just a few weeks. To the east is the Salmon River in Pulaski where they are up in the river now. You can be in Oak Orchard in 30 minutes from downtown Rochester and Pulaski in a couple of hours. I made a trip to Pulaski last week and fished in the 20 degree weather with a bit of snow and got into a couple of steelhead. There are usually browns around whenever the salmon or steelies are because they like to feed on the eggs.

At this time of the year, you need to fish deep. The fish are hunkered down low and are just opportunistic or defensive in how they feed. Regardless of what type of rod you are using, you need to have your bait/lure on the bottom of the river.

You know, I heard that Big Foot finally wizened up and joined the human race so you may have a bit of a challenge finding him.

In fact…..I have even seen him here on Yahoo Answers.

He goes by the handle…..Old Fuzz……lol
