Get your STCW95 and powerboat level 2 and eng1 medical and that should don you well for a job on motor yacht. Your background of tour boats and charter fishing boats is awesome and will do you well in finding a job, obviously know what your doing on board. Plus a lot of these boats have all the fishing gear in board for the guests to use so you’ll know how to use all that stuff. If you wanted to do sailing yachts then your day skipper would be useful as well. As soon as I got my qualifications I signed up to the crew agencies online and then headed straight to Antibes, France. There are a lot of crew agencies down there and you can go in and speak with them and they will actively try find you work… And also go dock walking… Get to the ports earl (7/8am) and just ask the boats if the need a day worker. Carry your cv with you as you’ll probably drop a few off to captains. Then it’s just a matter of keep persevering, checking back with the crew agencies and dock-walking every day… Take any work you can, build up your experience on big yachts. Hopefully you’ll get a permanent or temporary position as crew quickly.
