Can I be taxed if I live on a boat just floating around in the ocean?
Will the US government still give me property taxes if I live on a boat, off of US soil and I'm just floating around?
When I said "US Government" I meant STATES as well as the Federal government. Please, you ppl know what my question wuz so stop hairspliiting. Either you know the answer or you dont and if you dont just go away.
No. . . You will not be taxed.
My boat is my home. I live and cruise on it full time, and travel about 9,000 miles a year. You are not "taxed" for living on your boat. No, not in any way or in any form.
Some "permanent" stationary live a-boards - where their boats are never moved, (and are more like floating homes then boats) in some states and n some areas however are taxed.
Obviously, you will still pay sales tax, and income tax, etc. and in some places there is a "sewer tax" for boats that are hooked up to sewer service - but if your boat has a motor, or sails, and you are not in one of these restricted 'live a-board" areas. . . you are good to go - tax free.
I have been living on my boat full-time for 14 years and not paid a dime of tax as a result of living on my boat.

Make sure you have the diving gear and that your air tank is full. Also, check your task list to make sure she's actually needing to dive right now, and that there aren't any outstanding tasks she needs to complete first.
The reef (not called Shark Cove, but I cannot remember the real name) is a horseshoe shaped reef SE of the island–you should be able to sail right in. Once you're in, your picture will change from 3rd person back to 1st person, and you'll be sitting on the boat, the ladder is then to the left.
If it doesn't switch from 3rd to 1st, then Nancy must have another task to complete; she's very particular about that, apparently.
Honestly, I just finished the game today, and it wasn't very good, I was horribly dissapointed. The next one looks good; I hope it's better!

thanks, will, I liked your site. I can see the new tugs in your photographs too, and in the work boats for sale ads. I didn't mean to imply the port was dying; I like to see older boats outfitted and repurposed. My Havana joke was misleading because there is new investment in the tugs and maritime industries. The City viewed from the water is a continuous, vital commercial endeavor on shore and off, populated by people with tough jobs and their own logics and lore. Exciting.
