rhodes 22 sailboat
I am buying a yacht (sailing), which size will I need?
I am thinking of buying a sailing yacht to sail from the uk to the med, via west coast France and northern Spain, down Portugal and through the straits, Hopefully travellig for 9 months to a year from place to place.
Is this safe in a small ie 20-25' yacht or will I need bigger?
I am in the "research" stage of planning so any info would be great!
it's great that you are researching sailboat types and sizes in planning your cruise. boat size is not as important as seaworthiness and the motion of the boat at sea. many successful voyages have been made in boats under 30'. here is reference to a web site that discusses blue water sailing in small sailboats.
