I get it. I paid $13 for this set and I shouldn't have very high expectations but my teenage son pulled on these a little hard and bent one and it broke in half. Imagine a long, skinny, tin can made of aluminum with paddles at the end. That's what they are. If it's for a small inflatable boat, they'd be perfect. I had used it on a two person row boat and they failed.
I have a 12" aluminum boat and needed new oars in a hurry, so I bought these. They are probably legal, but I'd hate to depend on them in an emergency. Might be fine for a canoe.
I just bought these just in case. You get what you pay for. Cheap but will get you home if something goes wrong. Plastic seems like it might brake if hit or bent the wrong way.
