Is renting a boat a good idea from Maui?
I am going to Maui in April for the second time. At home I own a 25 foot boat. I found an outfitter in Lahaina that rents powerboats. Is it a good place to do this, or should I just go for a ride on a tourist boat. Thanks in advance.
It depends on what you intend to do with the boat when you're here.
Keep in mind that you'll have to be up on the "rules" of boating in Hawaii as well as know the currents and depths of every place that you'll be traveling to AND you'll have to follow safety guidelines while you're doing so.
My advice would be to take a ride on a tourist boat and relax and enjoy the scenery. Let someone else worry about all the rules.....

powerboat Television: Loopers Rendezvous
Are there any powerboats that fit in a garage and can also go out on the ocean?
The title pretty much says it all. I might get a powerboat, but would want to keep it in a garage, and would also want to take it out on the ocean. Is this possible?
Possible? Maybe. How big is your garage?
Personally, I wouldn't want to venture out to sea in anything less than a 25' boat and that on a trailer is too big for most garages unless the garage is custom made to accommodate the boat and trailer. Even a 19' boat on the trailer would be too big for the garage and a 19' would be best used on the ocean only on calms days with calm seas.
