why will my 25 horse power boat motor not start?
i bought a new battery check the starter it tries to start but does not
Bad gas. If it tries to start it has spark.
Bad gas for a 2 stroke engine can be gas containing alcohol. Get offroad gas.

Power Boat Crashes by Hauppauge 'HD PVR'.
I own a 27 foot power boat. Is it best to have 2 deep cycle batteries or one starter and one deep cycle?
Why do people keep insisting on using deep cycle batteries for starting batteries.
As posted above and here it is again.
Starting batteries are designed to start your engine which pulls a lot of cranking amps.
Deep cycle batteries are for small current draws such as trolling motors and accessories
A starting battery is designed to take the heavy draw from starting and constant charging
A deep cycle is designed for light amperage draw.
Any reputable marine supplier will verify this
Or just keep going to Pep Boys and buy your deep cycle batteries and their advice.LOL

hello again, took the 49er out the other day in light breeze and it was pretty brutal. my skipper and i were kind of cranky after spending ages trying to get out to the island the boats on and rigging and then the wind peters out when we get in the middle of the lake! the biggest problem we had was balancing in the light stuff. who should be balancing when theres maybe enough for one person to trap, not fully but just be hooked? i thought the skipper is s upposed to get hooked on as soon as they can and kind of crouch and be ready to flatten on puffs. then does the crew just chill in front of the mast or just behind but in the middle? we tried the in front of the mast but even on light days we get this angry power boat chop so the bow kept digging. needs some figuring… anyways we got this DVD called Higher and Faster and WOW! so much cool stuff. we had a narly storm today with winds that topped at 86 mph so we obviously didnt sail! instead we watched that movie and took notes and we have alot to try now. the main thing i learned is the wire to wire tacks, how to get out basicly. grab above the handle and straighten your arm out to support your weight…. awesome. any help on the light conditions would be great! thanks again,

haha, yea we have to forgive our power-boating friends, “fore they know knot what they do” lol. I can’t tell you how many times power boats have cut in front of me only a few meters off my bow without a care in the world. I don’t hesitate to give them a blast of my air horn, hehe, but they’ll never learn. In practice the collision rules might as well be abolished for power-boats, since so few of their operators actually bother to know what the rules are. But there are also some sailors out there who don’t know what they’re doing either. So at the end of the day, we’re each responsible for our own vessels out there, and I often change my course to avoid the idiots coming too close. No point risking my boat in the hope that the other guy is sober enough to know I have the right of way. cheers mate!
