best pontoon boats
I have 22 foot pontoon boat with a 2005 yamaha 50 hp motor. What prop will work the best for it.?
Since only a few pontoon boat types plane most use a lower pitch than you would for a runabout 17" pitch is way too much prop for your application
I think a 10 7/8 or 11 " diameter in a 12 13 or 14 pitch
Best bet is to look on the side or the prop nut end of the one you have , the Diameter and pitch should be marked there and get the same size you have .
The dealer has already determained what prop works best for all around use for that boat and motor combination

I want to buy a pontoon boat. I've never owned one before. Whats the best way to go?
There are seven people in my family. I've never pulled a boat before so I'm kind of nervous about it. Will be pulling it with a Suburban so thats not a problem.
Tracker makes a good pontoon boat. You need to get a 90hp or more motor if your going to haul 7 people around. You will use less gas from a bigger motor than an under powered motor. You may want to consider a pontoon boat with a top that you can let down while trailering . Also you need a place to store it, another reason for the top to not be fixed. I would get a stainless steel prop, i had an aluminum prop and it would lose its pitch under a load, and the first thing you hit will break it. It really depends on what you will be doing most,whether its fishing are just riding around will determine what features you get with your barge. They are a little wet in rough water, check the pontoons to see if they have wave and water deflectors. They are located on each side of each pontoon in the front of the barge. After you launch it a few times you will be able to launch it almost as fast as a boat. Good Luck, you will enjoy it.

While pontoon boats are often rented the un-schooled boater, I believe that they are secretly outfitted with hidden cameras to record reaction of the screaming men and women during the nose dives that these craft invariably perform. Same thing happen to us on a family reunion. It was funny later, but not when we all thought we were going to die.

This talk about how ethanol somehow is bad for engines is baloney. My small engines, 2 lawnmowers, 4 wheeler, 100cc dirt bike, snowblower are all several years old, a couple over 10 and the only difference I have seen is that since I started using the E10 I can get them started much much easier.
