personal pontoon boat
question about a personal watercraft?
so i was looking into mayb buyin one. what are some things i shood kno and how big of a cost shood i expect
I will try my best to help you find the right boat, but for a personal watercraft I assume it will be used for cruising around the lake, tubing, skiing, etc... I would suggest a ski boat depending on price range and size, they can range from a small 15 foot bayliner ($8,000), to a 26 foot Ski Natique ($34,000). I'd buy one used for the cheapest price. Also if you are interested in fishing, they have a ski/fish boat made by Ranger Boats ($19,000). For a relaxing ride you could choose a pontoon, but i'd go for a Ski boat! Good Luck!

The following is a response I got to an ad posted on CraigsList before I saw this website. Strange how they say the buyer deleted — we don't want to educate the scammers, now, do we?
The 2006 Pontoon Boat is still for sale and it is as good as it looks. I included in sale: a complete bimini top and a snap on cover and tandem axel trailer. The engine is Yamaha 4 stroke and has 90 HP and 186 hours. I have decided to sell it for $4,800 and the buyer will receive it with all papers and receipts that he needs to register it so if you buy it you don't have to worry about the paperwork.

Don't you worry, I ride my pontoon boat when I commute to school, around town, etc. Though actually, now that I'm over-thinking this (as I do!), I think a single-speed cruiser would be more like a pontoon boat, huh? A hybrid would be more like . . . a “regular boat.” (Haha. We're quickly reaching the extent of my knowledge – I think I mean a motor boat.)
Also, you're still the triathlete! That just blows my mind, regardless of my bike!
Hi Swampwitch! Oh, she’s not a bay boat, but a flat bottom skiff used mostly here for crabbing. However, I am noticing more and more of these vessels being purchased and rigged out for fishing. Because of the length, she handles a chop pretty well. I got a good deal on her at the end of last summer when a young entrepreneur from Alabama bought it, second hand, to put to use in the oil cleanup. He never got a contract, though, and rather than haul it back from Grand Isle to his home state, he settled for my offer. I’ve since retired the pontoon boat I’ve been using for tours and fishing since 2004, now BAB is the main boat. The speed increase alone was worth the investment. I’m back at my desk and hope to write more here in a minute. Are your friends still wanting a tour tomorrow? I sort of doubt it, since we never planned it
