What really happens in "The Life of Pi"?
I've been reading "The Life of Pi", but I am so confused. When the frenchman comes along and first it's a man, but then it's Richard Parker. Is it some misconstrued, obscure metaphor?... or am I delusional too?
Also, is Pi really on the boat with Richard Parker? Was Pi really even at sea, or is this some big metaphor?
Any insight you have would be fantastic, thanks!
The story is deliberately ambiguous, which goes back to Pi's interest in religions and the greater question of faith versus science/rational thinking. If you're on the faith side, you believe that he really was trapped on the boat for 200-odd days with a tiger. If you're on the science side, you believe his little allegory at the end, in which there is a sensible explanation for each seemingly fantastic episode. There's no way of knowing which one is true - you have to decide for yourself how YOU interpret the story.

Hello to all.Im taking a breather from singing to find my direction.Only been at it a couple of years but time is fleeting-im 37...Problem is I love so many different syltes-from Simon and Garfunkel to Supertramp to Led Zepp,for Radiohead coldplay to Maroon 5!.Even my originals go from a kind of mournful country rock to 80s stlye high energy roc and everywhere in between.Prior to singing I played the saxophone for 15 odd yrs,a Charlie parker nut!
