Output Twin
would a vex fast battery charger work as a universal smart charger for an airsoft gun aeg?
i am wanting to get into airsoft and the gun alone is a lot of money, and i really dont want to pay for the smart charger too. the information for the vex smart charger is
7.2/9.6V twin charger
Input: DC 11-20v, 1200mA
Output: DC8.7V, 1000mA
DC 11.6V, 700mA
i not only want to make sure it charges it but to make sure it would also stop charging once the battery is fully charged
V output and mA output are both fine for airsoft batteries.
Auto power off is listed as a feature, but they also say this:
"Note: The batteries must be placed INSIDE the cradle. There are sensors that detect the type of battery and change the voltage accordingly. Do not plug in the batteries and leave them outside the cradle. The charger is meant to only charge NiCd packs (not NiMH)."
That suggests to me that rather than having a peak detection facility like a smart charger, it could well just have a timed cycle for each specific battery.

A Low Cost Sound Card With Twin Phono (RCA) Output? Please Advise?
I'm looking for a sound card I can use with a reliable output connection for use in a bar music environment.
A 3.5mm stereo jack will be fine for a few months, after which I am concerned that contact resistance & grease deposits will develop causing crackling noises with any movement or vibration. Also, the contact surface area on a stereo jack is very small compared to RCA.
This wouldn't do, so I reckon RCA output is the way to go.
Trouble is, I can't find any low-end cards with such a connector. Do you know of any?

I doubt you'd fine a low cost card with such connection. An easy way round it is to buy a jack-to-rca cable and leave the jack alone.
However I wouldn't worry too much about the jack anyway, the cable is more likely to fail long before the plug.
