jetboat ride
what is a fun, cool place to go in Portland OR?
I am going to take my friend to do something totally random and awesome for her birthday. But i just don't know where. Please help!!
I recommend OMSI near the waterfront on the east side. They have a pretty cool museum, a very cool 180-degree Omnimax Theatre that sometimes plays 3D movies, a planetary sky show, a working submarine tour, and jetboat tours along the Columbia River.
Pioneer Place and vicinity in downtown can also be a fun place to shop, eat, or just walk around.
Someone else mentioned the Japanese Gardens up at Washington Park. In the same area, they also have the International Rose Test Gardens and the Portland Zoo, which would all make a fun day.
One more - the Portland Aerial Tram that runs up the side of the Portland hills. Looks like a pretty awesome, scenic ride. I think it only costs a few bucks too.
