How much maintenance do jet skis require?
I'm thinking about buying a jet ski and was simply wondering how much maintenance they require (i.e. do they tend to break down a lot? Am I going to spend more money in repairs than what the jet ski is worth? Are they expensive to fix?).
Any advice/info appreciated! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YES...Jet Ski's are expensive to fix!
We had one several years ago and it was fixable but it was more than the jet ski was worth!
Again, we have another one , a different make/model and same problem..It has been sitting at the shop for 2 months and finally..we got an estimate..$3000...WELL, technically we can go get a new one for that amount so basically this place is getting the jet-ski for parts that are still good!
Our neighbors on the lake are having the same problem with theirs as we had with ours..THE PISTONS...and they will probably junk theirs also as their jet-ski is older than ours!
They are good runners for awhile but when they break down..WATCH OUT!!!
And they like to break down when you are in the middle of the lake too...LOL..so you have to wait for a tow back..LOL
Well this is just my opinion..We are going for a smaller boat now that can still pull skiers and tubes and just to relax on!

i want to get my jet ski tuned up. It is a 1988 Seadoo Bombardier, i am hopeing to find someone who does it privately but a business would be fine to.

Here are two you can try. Found them in the online yellow pages, so I don't know about their reputations, but to do a tune up any service station can do that. These two are a bit more specialized.
