how do jet boats work
Is this a poem, i need to know quick?
I don’t remember how old I was,
I do remember the delicious food we had beforehand,
And the spray of the salty waves.
Then we slowed down, almost to a stop.
I heard someone swear, and run towards the back of the boat.
We had broken down,
Before we were two families having fun on a boat ride,
Now we were two families sitting on a boat in the hot summer.
We called the towing company,
We tried pulling the boat with our jet ski, but it didn’t work.
It was a long ride to the marina.
I did't write this, I was just wondering because I saw it on a poetry site while looking for ideas, because I have to do a memoir project for english class and one of the vignettes can be a poem. And i was considering doing something similar to this.
That is not a poem. The closest to a poetic line is.. and the spray of the salty waves. All your doing is describing without using descriptive adjectives so its a flat out story. It is a sorry attempt. As your writing you want to fill it with adjectives and personify some of the things like the boat or the storm or the marina. Picture yourself as one of those things and give it feelings and actions. Pretend you are that thing and tell the reader in a poem about what it is doing in the form of a poem. There are many styles of poems and I am no expert but honestly this one of yours is not a poem.

Do you actually like or get along with your neighbors?
i don't like or get along with my neighbors. I like to be left alone, but they think they have a right to be in my business. I do not live in a community with an association, but my neighbors think they have the right to tell me where to park, how to cut my grass, what kind of decorations to use, etc. Not to mention the people that live closest to my bedroom like to cut their grass, work on their cars, play music, and build things after 10pm, and the people across the street have been without electricity, because they didn't pay their bill, for 2 months and have been running a generator, but they have the money to buy and maintain several jet skies, a boat, and have a party today.I really hate my neighbors.
Madonna lives next door. You should see the traffic in and out of that place. One man after another and all the screams and I swear you can her the bed creaking even with my windows closed.
Boy George lives on the other side. No one ever visits him. He is nice and quiet.

1. How far can Jack run in 55 seconds? If you start him that far from the finish line, and start Dick at the starting line (440 yards to go), then they'll both finish in 55 seconds.
The "handicap" is how far ahead Jack starts. For instance suppose you find out he runs 300 yards in 55 seconds. Then he should start 140 yards ahead so he only has 300 yards to go.
2. Wind speed is how fast the wind is blowing. Air speed is how fast the airplane is moving relative to the air, but if the air is moving then the wind might help or hurt. It's exactly the same as rowing in a current. If you row at 5 m/sec and the current is 5 m/sec, then you won't make any progress upstream (5 – 5 = 0) but downstream you'll go 10 m/sec (5 + 5 = 10).
OK, so let the plane's speed be v and the wind be w. Then when the wind is helping and the plane moves at v + w, the time is 3 hours. 1890/(v+w) = 3. When the wind is hurting and the plane is moving at v – w, the time is 3.375 hrs. 1890/(v – w) = 3.375. These are simultaneous equations you have to solve. Multiply by the denominator to solve. So the first one is 1890 = 3(v+w) = 3v + 3w and the second one is 1890 = 3.375(v – w) = 3.375v – 3.375w.
4. Same idea. This time they're telling you v = 5w. The time to go upstream plus the time to go downstream is 2.5 hours. So 12/(v + w) + 12/(v-w) = 2.5. You are told v = 5w, so
12/6w + 12/4w = 2.5
You can clear the fractions by multiplying both sides by 12w.
12*2w + 12*3w = 2.5*12.
5. Same idea. This time you're told that 630/(v+w) = 1.5 and that 630/(v-w) is 15 minutes longer = 1.75 hours. So it's just like solving number 4 with different numbers.
