How do I register my jet ski?
This is homework for me.
The question reads: You would like to purchase and operate a jet ski this summer. Describe all of the legal requirements you would have to satisfy in order to register and operate, transport, and launch it.

to transport and launch the jet ski, you will need a drivers license, vehicle license registration and title for the vehicle and boat trailer. depending on you location you will also need a bill of sale the vehicle, trailer and jet ski, and title for the jet ski as well as a boaters license to operate the jet ski. finally you will need the skill and experience to operate each.

In the event the car was not his (which means it was stolen), it will have to be surrendered to the police immediately. You would then have to sue him for the amount lost if you can locate him.
When you had it inspected, he would have had to show a registration card for the inspection to be passed, correct? Assuming he didn't steal the car with that in it, if it was his that means he had the title at some point to get that.
Personally, I would contact the police and see if that VIN has been reported stolen. If it has, you would just have to turn it in anyway, and if not, there's a decent chance its legit.
Seems like a pretty good deal. He is willing to sell the engine “long block” (don't know if that includes the carbs and intake) for $6,000.It seems like back in the 1970s and early 1980s these big block jet boats were everywhere. Now you hardly see them. I remember at the time they were really loud, usually with a straight exhaust that didn't exit into the water. At the time my parents and grandparents hated them because they really didn't make for a quite getaway to the lake. Now I would kind of like to find one cheap.
