Smoothies: How do you make them super good like in the store? I've tried everything and I suck!?
Yeah... in the stores they're all so smooth and icy and full of flavor... but every time I make them they suck! And I've tried tons of stuff! Usually ice and fruit and some water... sometimes juice, sometimes some milk, but it always tastes like... thick... or hard to drink... or watery... ewwe! Even following recipes it's the same. The only time it was good was when I used the premade 'island oasis' packets that came with it.
So what is the trick?!
Well, I made banana smoothies in a cafe and people would come in and ask for mine, noone elses! It was simply 2 scoops icecream, chopped up banana, milk, squirt of honey, pinch of nutmeg... blend, blend, blend... make sure the straw stands up... serve.
Although it sound like you're trying to make what we call a frappe in Australia. Chuck in the fruit, ice, NO water, bit of juice.... blend, blend, blend, and serve. If it's too thick for your liking use more ice and juice, the water will just make it crappy. Or you can add some natural yoghurt to make it creamy... not milk.

isle of man T.T., what a pain? will everybody write to the steam packet company on my behalf please?
There is only one way on and off this island with a car and that is by ferry! my daughter is at university in Derby, and cannot get back her for a month from 17th May to 17th June without paying the extortionate (O.T.T.) amounts the I.O.M> Steam Packet charges because of people wanting to get to the T.T., does anybody think that it would be reasonable of them to let residents, especially students to get themselves home at the end of term. Her rented house closes until term resumes! so we have to pay extra for T T rates! and all I can hear during that month frpm 6 in the morning till 6 at night is motorbikes, and sometimes we can't go out at certian times because the roads are shut. It may well be the most famous bike racing circuit in the world, and it is fun whilsr its here, but we can't get home without it costing an arm and a leg,.....anybody coming over, ?and does anyone see my point?
Thught you could fly to the isle of Man? I know it must be a pain and yes I think you residents (if able to prove properly) should be able to get the standard ticket price. Can you not book ahead or write to the company concerned to appeal to their better nature to see if can't get a standard price ticket?
