how much is insurance on sailboats
does anyone know a company that sells marine liability insurance only, without having to buy the whole package
I have a 46foot sailboat
If you own the boat outright and there are no loans against it then there are many insurance companies that will insure it for liability only. Boat US & Allstate are 2 that I have used. My issue with insurance companies is the restrctions that they may put on where you can sail and still be covered. Here on San Francisco Bay, some insurers will NOT cover a boat that goes outside the Golden Gate. Some cover a limited area outside the gate. If you are in an area that has restricted areas, they should ask you where you intend to sail before you buy.
