Inboard Boat
will submerging a inboard boat starter in water ruin it?
i have a 93 mercruser 3.0 litre, and submerged it in water yesterday and now when i hit the key, the silinoid clicks but doesnt turn over...could i have possibly burnt out the starter
it has been airing out since i got it out of the water...it started acting up when i was taking on water...tried to start to get moving and nothing
Salt water? if so its done. If not you may be able to dry it but if its not working now its already to late.

Think of winterization as a storage procedure. The fogging of the engine, and lube of steering, gimbal bearing etc. is very important. Any amount of water left in the block or manifolds could freeze, resulting in a repair bill for more than the boat is worth, so, yes re-winterize it.
One new thing. For years the standard was to fill the tank, and add Stabal to the fuel, and store the boat over the winter. NOW the new standard is to leave the tank bone dry, and run all fuel out of the carb. Fuel contamination has become a major problem with the new E10 fuels. If you have to do it, pump the fuel out, now. Good Luck!
it can be a whole bunch of things,
starting from a fuel hose crushed or kinked, fuel filter plugged, fuel contaminated, spark plug fouled or defective, check your carburetor hoses, fuel tank.
If put more engine information, brand, year, hp, I will be able to guide you better to get to the problem
