Can I tow a five man tinny with 15hp engine on trailer with Jeep Wrangler? How will short wheel base effect?
I'm looking to buy a new car at the right price to do what I need which is to be able to tow my tinny down to my houseboat. The Jeep Wrangler looks like the right kind of car for me. I'm worried though, about this talk of short wheel bases. I don't understand that technical stuff and am worrried how it will affect the car's performamce. I've just had an accident in a Toyota Hilux (2007 model) in the rain with my boat and trailer. This was a car I thought would be incredibly reliable, but I still had an accident, wrote off my car and the car coming in the opposite direction as I aqua-planed across into the on-coming traffic. Not wishing to repeat the same mistakes, I'm asking the question. Many thanks
I pull my 10 foot jet ski and my husband's 21 foot bass boat (with a 200hp Johnson engine) with my Jeep Wrangler. Haven't had any problems with it, but would like to warn you that if it rains and you have to brake fast that the weight of the boat will push you (my jet ski did it to me once). As for all Jeep Wranglers, be careful when pulling something because you have a higher chance of jack knifing and/or rolling when something goes wrong with pulling something. Just drive like you got some sense and you should be ok.
