What size/kind of rope should I use to tie out to trees when I beach out a 14x70 houseboat?
I agree that 5/8 nylon should be sufficient. But 45 cal has a point. A lot of it has to do with what you tie to. I'd put out your anchor and secure it to your stern. You might even use a bridle to equalize toe load. I had a 20' by 40' that weighed a little less than 40,000. (two story). Good luck!
